What does the process involve?
Once you have viewed the property and subsequently received a call to confirm that you have been made an offer, you will need to attend our office in order to sign the tenancy agreement.
We will send you a copy of the tenancy agreement and rental details at least 24 hours before your appointment to sign your new tenancy. This is a legal document and must be read carefully before signing. Also if you are in receipt of Income Support you must take the documents to Customer & Local Services to obtain an estimate of the rent they will pay to Andium Homes.
In order for us to complete the sign up process you will need to bring the following items to your appointment;
- your bank details to set up a Direct Debit for your rental payment & payment by debit card at sign up if applicable.
- photo ID
- your registration card (which you can get from the Population Office at Customer & Local Services
- confirmation of your estimated benefit from Income Support (if applicable)
Please note that the sign up process could take up to an hour to complete. We cannot proceed with signing the Tenancy Agreement without the documents above.
Application forms
As part of your sign up you will need to complete a number of forms to set up your rent account, and to ensure that any Income Support payments you receive are managed correctly.
Insuring your home
As your landlord we make sure that all of our properties are insured against all the normal landlord risks. However, this insurance does not extend to any of your personal possessions including white goods Our insurance also excludes your carpets and other floor coverings in your home as well as the glass in the windows and doors of your home.
You will be aware from your Tenancy Agreement that you are required to have insurance for your home contents, including your glazing. It is also worthwhile checking that your insurance provides cover for lost keys as we do not keep any spare keys for your home. If you do lose your keys you will have to make your own arrangements to have the locks replaced and this will be entirely at your cost. Where you obtain your home contents insurance, and the type of cover you decide to get is entirely your choice.
Keeping Pets in your home
Depending on the Tenancy Agreement that you have signed with us, you may need to ask our permission if you wish to keep a certain number or type of domestic pets. If you do need to apply for permission, please complete the Application Form below and submit it to us.
