Huge success as over 600 attend Andium Homebuy Open Days
Over 600 individuals, couples and families attended open days held last Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd April, hosted by Andium Homes. The events, which took place in the main hall at St Pauls Centre, were organised by the Company to promote the Andium Homebuy scheme and highlight sites being developed for affordable purchase.
Feedback from the events, which for the most part saw queues on the stairs leading up to the venue, demonstrates that demand remains very high, with the majority of those attending being in a position to buy now.
Lenders and legal firms also supported the two-day event, in order to offer advice on all aspects of the home buying process.
Deputy Anne Pryke, Minister for Housing, who attended the event on the Saturday, said, “Helping people to become home owners is an important objective for the States of Jersey and the Andium Homebuy scheme is one way we are helping people to achieve their aspirations. The open days highlighted that there is a lot of interest amongst local people to step onto the property ladder and, with Andium building 300 new affordable homes by 2020, we hope to make this a reality for as many of them as possible.”
Ian Gallichan, Chief Executive at Andium Homes, said, “The open days were a huge success and I’m sure we will be holding more of them in the future. Our Homebuy scheme and development plans were very well received. There was a real buzz in the room and it was a great opportunity for people to meet with us and learn about the opportunities we can offer”.
