Following a Third Party Appeal heard on the 9th February, Andium Homes is delighted that the Minister for Planning and Environment has acknowledged the recommendations made by the Independent Planning Inspector and has approved the scheme to develop 151 new homes on the final phase of the Le Squez redevelopment.
Demolition of the old properties was completed last year and Andium Homes will commence work immediately following receipt of the Planning Permit. The new homes will be a mix of one, two and three bedroom affordable homes, creating an environment which will be generally free of surface car parking, where pedestrians and cyclists take priority in the streets and courtyards. This will include community facilities and a dedicated community room.
Mike Porter, Head of Operations said, “Once again we are delighted that plans have been approved and we can now commence work on this final stage. The further endorsement of this scheme by the Planning Applications Committee and Independent Planning Inspector clearly demonstrate the high standard of design and the much needed delivery of these 151 new homes will significantly contribute to Andium Homes’ commitment to deliver 1,000 affordable homes by 2020”
